Grilled sandwich with tomatoes, figs and feta cheese with fine herbs

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of farmhouse bread (or any other bread of your choice)
  • 2 large SAVOURA | Beefsteak tomatoes, thickly sliced
  • 4 fresh figs, quartered
  • 150 g feta cheese with fine herbs, crumbled
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • A few fresh basil leaves to garnish

Preparation

  1. Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium heat.
  2. Combine the honey, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil in a small bowl. Set aside.
  3. On four slices of bread, arrange the tomato slices, fig quarters and herbed feta cheese. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  4. Place the remaining four slices of bread on top to form four sandwiches.
  5. Lightly brush both sides of each sandwich with honey, balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
  6. Place the sandwiches on the grill or in the preheated grill pan. Grill at [medium heat] for [3-4 minutes] on each side until the bread is golden and crisp and the cheese has melted.
  7. Remove the sandwiches from the grill and garnish with a few fresh basil leaves.
