Delicious Tomato Tart

Ingredients

  • 2 SAVOURA Beefsteak tomatoes
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • Fresh GOURMA Provence herbs: rosemary, savory, thyme, basil, oregano
  • Olive oil
  • Fine salt and finishing salt (such as Maldon)
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

  1. Prepare the tomatoes: Slice the tomatoes and sprinkle with salt. Let them drain on a rack for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the onions: Slice the onion and sauté in a pan with olive oil until tender and golden.
  3. Prepare the pastry: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out the puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Assemble the tart: Spread the Dijon mustard over the pastry. Top with caramelized onions, Gruyère cheese, and drained tomatoes. Sprinkle with Provence herbs.
  5. Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden and crispy.
  6. Finish: Season with salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil, if desired. Cut into portions and serve.

 

Tip: For an extra gourmet touch, serve this tart with a side salad and a light vinaigrette.
