As a Greenhouse Supervisor, and under the supervision of the Head Grower, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all production operations. This includes monitoring the quality of the crops, analyzing performance, applying health and safety standards (SST), and managing the maintenance of equipment and facilities. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with necessary certifications (CanadaGap, Fair Trade USA, Ecocert, etc.) and supervising the staff under your responsibility, ensuring their training and evaluation.
You ensure the proper execution of all greenhouse production activities. This includes analyzing quality, monitoring productivity standards, and rigorously applying safety standards (SST) to guarantee a secure and efficient work environment.
You supervise a team under your responsibility, ensuring they follow procedures and meet performance goals. You are also responsible for the training and evaluation of staff to maintain a collaborative and motivating work environment.
You ensure that the maintenance of equipment and facilities is carried out correctly and that everything remains clean and functional. This includes managing production equipment and maintaining cleanliness throughout the facilities.
You ensure compliance with certifications such as CanadaGap, Fairtrade Canada, and others. By ensuring all procedures are followed, you play a key ole in maintaining our level of compliance and quality.
You proactively manage priorities and take necessary action in any urgent or unforeseen situation to ensure smooth production operations.
A DEP in agriculture or two years of experience in a similar position, ideally with experience in managing unionized staff, are required for this role.
Proficiency with office tools (Microsoft Office) and a good understanding of quality, safety, and phytoprotection standards applied in greenhouses.
Physical endurance and the ability to work in a sometimes hot and demanding environment are essential.
You demonstrate motivating leadership, a sense of urgency, good priority management, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
French is required, and proficiency in Spanish is an additional asset to facilitate communication with some team members.
